Why do wisdom teeth cause pain and do they need to be removed?
What is orthodontic treatment and what situations require orthodontic treatment?

    Causes of Wisdom Tooth Pain
Impaction: Wisdom teeth often do not have enough room to fully erupt, leading to impaction. An impacted tooth can be partially or completely trapped beneath the gums, causing pain and swelling.

Infection: As wisdom teeth partially emerge, they can create an opening for bacteria, leading to infection and inflammation of the surrounding gums (pericoronitis).

Crowding: If there isn't enough space in the mouth, the emerging wisdom teeth can push against other teeth, causing pain and alignment issues.

Decay: Partially erupted wisdom teeth are difficult to clean, making them more susceptible to decay and gum disease, which can be painful.

See a dentist if your wisdom teeth cause persistent pain, swelling, difficulty opening your mouth, or signs of infection like redness or fever. Early evaluation can prevent complications and ease discomfort.
