    If the extraction is just of a normal tooth, then there is very little preparation you will have to do beforehand.

    Local anesthesia is administered to numb the area around the tooth to minimize pain during the extraction. In some cases, sedation may also be used to help patients relax.

    You can typically eat soft foods and drink liquids immediately after a tooth extraction, but avoid using a straw and chewing on the extraction site for the first 24 hours.

    After getting a tooth pulled, it's generally recommended to wait at least 24 hours before drinking water to allow the blood clot to form and prevent dislodging it.
